Background
Judy Thompson is a Compensation Consultant who helps clients
create compensation strategies and systems that promote company
success. Judy launched her consulting practice in 1993,
and has consulted with clients ranging from tiny start-ups to large
multinationals in many business sectors on a variety of compensation
issues. With over 20 years in Human Resources Management and a specialty
in compensation Judy has a proven track record in finding effective
solutions to business issues.
Prior to opening her consulting practice Judy managed Human
Resources in Silicon Valley high tech companies. At BT
North America she directed the Compensation, HRIS and Staffing functions.
She managed all U.S. salary programs and expatriate, sales and executive
compensation. She implemented a new Human Resource Information System
and significantly improved system integrity and reporting. At Harris
Corporation Judy designed and presented management-development,
customer-service and quality-improvement training. She also managed
compensation and benefits for the division's U.S and Canadian
operations.
Before her high tech positions, Judy worked at Far West Laboratory
for Educational Research and Development, where she designed and
conducted statistical research, surveys and program evaluation.
Judy is designated Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
by World at Work (formerly American Compensation Association). She
holds an MA in organization studies, an MLA in
liberal arts and a BA in education. She is a member of Institute
of Management Consultants, World at Work and Northern California
Human Resources Association.
